Contact Points, Peter Carellas or Joe Hyland 202/775-1440 The Office of
the Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the United States Air
Force for Long Range Planning (AF/LR), in conjunction with the National
Security Industrial Association (NSIA), present an unclassified
symposium to discuss the future of the United States Air Force. AF/LR
was established in November 1995 to develop a strategic vision for the
Air Force of 2025, while developing a process that institutionalizes
long-range strategic planning. The vision, developed with senior Air
Force leader input, will articulate the contributions of air and space
power to joint war fighting and the future defense needs of the
nation, as well as chart actionable courses to that future. AF/LR is
capturing, evaluating, and synthesizing innovative ideas that could
have a revolutionary impact on the Air Force, including those generated
by recently completed long range studies such as the Air Force
Scientific Advisory Board's New World Vistas and Air University's Air
Force 2025. Areas receiving the Long Range Plans staff's attention
include: Long Range Planning Processes; Role of Manned and Unmanned Air
Vehicles (UAV's); Space; Personnel; Systems Acquisition; Science and
Technology (S&T); Infrastructure and many more. The objective of the
symposium is to initiate a forum to facilitate Air
Force/industry/academia partnerships and begin dialogue on the course
upon which AF/LR has embarked. This is the first in what will become an
annual event presented by the Air Force Chief of Staff (CSAF) to
institutionalize long-range planning in the Air Force. The first Air
Force Long-Range Planning Symposium will be held 7 August 1996 at the
Washington National Airport Hilton Hotel, 2399 Jefferson Davis Highway,
Arlington, VA 22202. You may make room reservations directly with the
hotel by calling 703/418-6800 (fax: 703/418-3763). To request
registration material or for other information call NSIA Department of
National Activities at 202/775-1440 (fax: 202/466-9080). (187) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0125 19960710\U-0003.SOL)
