90009-2007 Y -- INSTALLATION OF ILS POWER CABLE AT CASA GRANDE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT,
CASA GRANDE, AZ SOL DTFA08-96-B-04650 POC Cynthia Alatorre The Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the replacement
and installation of the ILS power cable located at Casa Grande
Municipal Airport, Casa Grande, Arizona. The contractor shall provide
all labor, equipment, transportation and materials, required to install
all underground power. Work shall include but is not limited to:
installation of 5KV ILS Power Cable, installation of pull boxes,
conduit trenching and beddings, installation of PVC conduit,
termination of existing wires, installation of guard wires and ground
rods, testing and operational checks and tests. All work shall be in
strict accordance with FAA plans and specifications. The period of
performance is established for thirty (30) calendar days. The period of
performance is mandatory and shall be performed within this time frame.
The FAA shall be suppling solicitations to the following companies: DP
Electric, Inc, Tempe Arizona, and Electrical Power & Control
Corporation, Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to these companies, the FAA
shall supply copies of the aforementioned solicitation to the first
five (5) written requests responding to this announcement. This
solicitation is restricted to all potential bidders located within a
150 mile range of Casa Grande, Arizona. All requests must be submitted
in writing and may be FAXed to the attention of Cynthia Alatorre, FAX
number (310) 536-8550. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS SHALL BE ACCEPTED. A
Screening Information Request (SIR)/Pre-Qualification Survey will be
forwarded to the above mentioned contractors and to the first five (5)
requests received and shall be utilized to determine which potential
bidders are qualified to perform on this project. The FAA may accept
the lowest priced offer without discussions, however, discussions
and/or negotiations may be conducted with these firms to determine the
contractor offering the best value to the FAA. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) for this procurement is 1731 and includes an
estimated price range of $50,000.00 to $100,000.00. FOR MINORITY,
WOMEN-OWNED AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES. The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or sub-contract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
