S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. The work includes, but is not limited to, architectural renovations and space modifications; replacement of HVAC system; upgrade of existing electrical, plumbing, fire protection and telephone systems; addition of a mechanical room and bathroom/storage room; and asbestos and lead paint abatement. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with Specification No. 60-003-91 and Drawing No. 60-003-91 (sheets 1-195). All work shall be completed within 540 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Plans (half-size), specifications, and all necessary bid documents will be available approximately August 7, 1996 and may be obtained by submitting a check in the amount of $25.00 per set (non-refundable) made payable to the U. The solicitation is unrestricted IAW the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
