The work to be performed includes repair of the outlet channel below a large flood control reservoir will consist of lowering approximately 800 feet of the channel bottom by an additional 10 feet, including up to 34,000 cubic yards of rock excavation and up to 15,000 cubic yards of sand. Dewatering of the excavation in sands will be required. The channel banks will be protected with riprap and bedding obtained by utilizing existing on site material (17,000 +/- cubic yards) and material from off site sources (11,000 +/- cubic yards). Grouted riprap will be required for a 200 foot long portion of the stone protection. Excavated rock from the channel will be used to construct a rockfill revetment (34,000 +/- cubic yards). A cellular sheet pile wire wall (17,000 +/- square feet) and rock (4,500 +/- cubic yards) stabilizer will be constructed across the 200 foot wide channel. Other earth work associated with the repair will also be required. Solicitations will be issued on or about 05 August 1996. Bids will be opened on or about 10 September 1996.
