Z -- INSTALL BOILERS Sol. GS-05P-96-GAC-0247. Due 082996. Contact, DeLois Glover, 312/353-3978. Install two new gas fired hot water boilers at the Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse at locations indicated inside the mechanical equipment room. The boilers shall be high efficiency type and allow for maximum operating flexibility and provide sufficient redundancy so that loss or failure of any one will not compromise the ability to meet the design load of the building. Install a new gas fired domestic hot heater of adequate size with compatible storage tanks to replace the existing heater. The new boiler breeching shall be combined with that of the new hot water heater. The new main pipe headers shall be connected to the existing building distribution headers at convenient locations prior to removal of the steam side connections. When installation is complete and the boilers become ready for use, all steam piping and the associated equipment shall be removed from the equipment room with the remainder piping capped. Provide a new natural gas service to the building from the existing city gas mains running below N. Wilkinson Avenue street level. Coordinate the work of acquiring the services with the gas utility company. Install new controls Johnson (DX-9100) and connect to the existing building EMS system (Johnson Metasys). The standard industrial classification code for this project is 1711. The size standard is 7 million. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $250,000.
