The work will be done in Building 8 and includes connecting 12,470 volt primary to a new 3-phase, 1000 kVA, 277/480 volt step-down transformer and removing an existing 400 kVA step-down transformer. Installing a new motor control center with metering for new chiller, condenser water pump, cooling tower fan and chilled water pump. Replace existing cooling tower fans and starters with new variable speed motors and controllers. Removal of an existing 550-ton chiller, furnishing and installing two new 500-ton chillers, chilled water pump, condenser water pump, new cooling tower, painting of existing cooling tower supports, electrical and incidental related work. The air and water flows will be rebalanced to the new required quantities. The removed 500 kVA step-down transformer will remain the property of the Government. Contract completion is 195 days. Contract price is between $500,000 - $1,000,000. Plans and specifications should be available on or about 10 August 1996 and will be distributed until the supply is exhausted.
