22151 66 -- RAMAN IMAGING SPECTROMETER MICROSCOPE SYSTEM SOL RFP-0010 DUE
081296 POC Paul D. Rankin, Contract Specialist, 703-814-4914. The
Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to purchase one each of a brand
name or equal Renishaw 2000 Raman Imaging Spectrometer/Microscope
System. The system must be a commercial system and not fabricated
specifically for this request. The salient characteristics are as
follows: The holographic notch filters must be employed as a
beamsplitter to both reflect the laser beam into the microscope
assembly and also reject the Raleigh scattered light on the return path
with holographic notch filters. The system supplied must have an on
axis stigmatic design with the microscope directly coupled to the
spectrometer without the use of fiber optics. The system must be
capable of spectral resolution of 1 cm-1 or better in the fingerprint
region (200-2000 cm-1) using 780 nm laser excitation. The system must
have extended scan, to allow a spectral coverage of 0-9000 cm-1 in one
continuous scan with a spectral resolution of 2 cm-1 or better using
514 nm excitation. This must not be achieved using spectral step and
stitch techniques, but through synchronizing the CCD readout to the
continuous scan of the grating. The system must have special resolution
of at least 1 micro meter laterally and 2 micro meters in depth.
Computer control of the laser spot size at the sample must give a
continuously variable spot size from 1-400 micro meters. Direct 2-D
Raman imaging using dielectric filters. CCD Detection must be Peltier
cooled with at least 576 x 384 pixels and 16 bits. The integrated
microscope must include standard 10x, 50x, and ultralong working
distance 20x objective. The microscope video camera and monitor package
must include a trinocular head, photoeyepiece, adaptor C-mount, 13''
color monitor and 1/2'' color camera. The system must be modular and
includes the following: Line Item 1. System 2000 Raman Microscope for
spectral and imaging analysis; Line Item 2. 780 nm Excitation Diode
Laser (20 mW); Line Item 3. Upgrade of optics to dual 514/780 nm
excitation including a 514 nm laser (25mW) and associated components;
Line Item 4. Dual laser mount for 514 nm abnd 780nm excitation lasers;
Line Item 5. 100x Microscope objective; Line Item 6. Confocal point by
point mapping package including an X-Y-Z stepper stage, joy stick and
mapping software; Line Item 7. Viedo camera and monitor package; Line
Item 8. Macropoint sampling optics assembly; Line Item 9. Fiber optic
probe for use with 780 nm laser; Line Item 10. Filters for using the
fiber optic probe at 514nm; Line Item 11. Work Station consisting of,
166MHz Pentium processor with Windows 95 Operating System, 32 Mbytes
RAM, 2.0 Gbytes hard drive, 1.4 Mbytes 3.5'' floppy drive and
spectrometer interface controller. Line Item 12. 17'' SVGA Color
Monitor; Line Item 13. Renishaw Grams/386 software package; Line Item
14. Gram/386 Level II data analysis and graphing software; Line Item
15. Grams/386 Search/Galactic software; and Line Item 16. All
associated interface wiring and cable. The system must carry a one year
warranty on the entire system including parts, labor and travel with an
optional service contract after the first year. On site training upon
delivery and setup with unlimited telephone technical support. All
request for a copy of the RFP should be submitted in writing. All
responsible sources meeting the RFP specifications may submit an offer
for consideration with any customary changes to the terms and
conditions as prescribed in FAR clase 52.212-4 (c) Contract Terms and
Conditions - Commercial Items. (0192) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0293 19960711\66-0002.SOL)
