The contractor shall assist the SAF/IG administrators with software
upgrades, database maintenance, database refinement, and advanced
database administrator training. The contractor shall assist in the
planning and implementation of the system from 12 users to 25 users,
which are currently connected to an existing local area network (LAN).
All tasks required to upgrade the system to 25 users shall be
accomplished 6 months from date of award of the contract. The
contractor shall meet with the point-of-contact (POC) at the SAF/IG
Pentagon office every 2 weeks for a project review conference. The
contractor shall review the current database and analyze the database's
effectiveness in meeting the report requirements of the senior staff.
The contractor shall make recommendations on the best way to improve
current operations and database structure, and provide these changes in
a written format at the project review conference. Any changes
implemented shall be added to the user guides and technical manual. The
contractor shall interview all members of the initial customer base to
ascertain recommendations for modifications and enhancements to the
database. The contractor shall provide a written report as to his
findings with a recommendation for implementing the modifications and
enhancements at the bi-weekly project review conference. Changes and
enhancements shall be added to the users guide and technical manual.
The contractor shall provide technical assistance to database
administrators upgrading database software. The contractor shall
provide technical assistance in the development of database backup and
restore policies. The contractor shall assist in identifying potential
problems and solutions for these problems and shall ensure technical
accuracy of policies developed to support the BIS. The contractor shall
provide technical assistance for the development of a disaster and
recovery plan. The contractor shall review all disaster and recovery
plans for technical accuracy, making recommendations for modifications
to the plan. The contractor shall provide advanced training to
administrative personnel in advance database administration. The
contractor shall ensure that administrators have a basic knowledge of
the administrative functions as well as providing them training on
exporting and importing of the database in making modifications to the
database system. The contractor shall provide demonstration diskettes
for any new or recommended software upgrade or new software purchased
no later than 6 months from the date of award. See Numbered Note 22.
