Contracting Officer The work includes several alterations for the
purpose of improving handicap accessibility for building 3 and 31 at
the U.S. Coast Guard Yard. The work includes the replacement of a
3-Floor freight elevator with a passenger elevator, the construction of
an exterior wheelchair ramp, and the renovation of several toilets.
This requirement is issued pursuant to the Small Business Demonstration
Program. It is open to both Large and Small Business Participants. The
SIC Code is 1542. The estimated cost is between $100,000 and $250,000.
F.O.B. Point Destination - U.S. Coast Guard Yard, 2401 Hawkins Point
Road, Baltimore, MD 21226 - Bidders will be furnished one full set of
Drawings and one half size set of drawings. The solicitation, plans and
specification may be obtained by submitting a request and a check, made
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, in the amount of $25.00. The check
should have ''Solicitation No. DTCG40-96-B-30040'' somewhere on the
check for identification purposes. This cost of $25.00 is

prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enable firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to
$1.0 Million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on
the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available
under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates
to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
