VA Hospital, Montrose, NY. Work will include, but not be limited to the existing steel, masonry and drywall partitions will be demolished and replaced with drywall construction. The existing congregate baths and showers will be demolished and new semi-private bathrooms will be constructed. Existing flooring and ceiling systems will be replaced. The nursing station, support areas and dayrooms will be reconfigured to provide extra space for patient bedrooms. The existing window air conditioners will be removed. Any asbestos containing materials impacted by these renovations will be abated as part of this project. PRE-BID CONFERENCE, including walk-thru, is scheduled for August 27, 1996 at 10:30 A.M. local time, Bldg. 1, Room 29. Construction cost range is between $2 million and $5 million dollars. A limited number of bid packages will be available on or about August 1, 1996 and will be issued on a first come, first serve basis until supply is exhausted. No fee for plans and specs. Mandatory contract completion time is 560 calendar days. BOD is September 24, 1996 at 3:30 PM local time, and all bidders are expected and urged to inspect the site where the work will be performed. Requests for bid documents must be in writing on company letterhead to the Contracting Officer, address above. No telephone or fax requests will be honored.
