303-236-5900 x334 The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for the
purchase of One (1) Ion Trap Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer
System. The system shall be able to perform analytical techniques
related to the following: 1) crude oil-source rock correlation, oil and
rock thermal maturity, and time-temperature history of sedimentary
rocks with regard to determination of volumetrics and composition of
oils and gas resources. The instrument shall be used for: 1) selected
ion monitoring (SIM) of ''biological markers'' (biomarkers) in crude
oils and sedimentary rock extracts; 2) full scan spectra of various
petroleum fractions; and 3) GC/MS/MS of various petroleum fractions for
the purpose of separating compounds of similar molecular structure but
different molecular weights. The system shall consist of three basic
components: 1) the gas chromatograph (GC), 2) the mass spectrometer
(MS), and 3) the data system (DS). Delivery shall be FOB Destination to
Denver, CO within ninety (90) days after receipt of order. Sol.
1434-CR-96-SS-00016 will be available o/a July 31, 1996 with closing 20
days after issuance. Request for Sol. should be in writing; No phone
