Correction: This action originally published in the CBD on May 1, 1996 is revised: Delete the description/minimum requirements and replace it with the following: The ballistic vest shall be of a Soft Body design providing front, side and rear upper torso coverage. The design shall also allow for insertion of a soft trauma device in the front. The ballistic vest must be lightweight, weighing less than one pound per square foot. It must also be flexible and capable of being worn continuously for long periods, at least (18) eighteen hours. It must provide protection from specified handgun bullet penetration and resultant trauma as set forth in the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Standard 0101.03 Level III-A, dated April 1987. Requests for the solicitation package must be received by July 22, 1996. The actual solicitation package will be released on or about July 26, 1996.
