The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) is pursuing conversion of current civil service support of the Acquisition Security Division to a contract activity based on an OMB Circular A-76 study. AFDTC contemplates release of a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the Acquisition Security Division in September 1996. Services for this operation include supporting approximately 4,000 civilians, 7,000 military members, and 689 contractor personnel in managing classified documents. Work includes managing industrial security and international treaty inspection programs for Eglin, personnel security for all Air Force personnel assigned to Eglin, information and operations security programs for AF Material Command (AFMC) at Eglin plus some tenant (associate) organizations, operation of a self-service classified destruction facility, management of test security support, special access program security, an international affairs program for AFDTC, and management of systems security engineering management for Wright Weapons Laboratory. Majority of organization members also serve as primary security/operations managers for AFTDC organizations. The proposed service Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC Code) for this acquisition is 8748 ($5 million). This action is under 100% small-business set-aside.
