Z -- ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND MISCELLANEOUS UPGRADES AT THE LOS ANGELES JOB CORPS CENTER, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA SOL IFB-96-DAA-61-JC DUE 090596 POC Kelsey C. This project involves the combination of work at two different building locations for the Los Angeles Job Corps Center located in Los Angeles, California. The work consists of the abatement of asbestos and the provision of light fixtures and smoke detectors in Buildings No. 5 at the 1215 Lodi Place location; and the demolition of existing kitchen and dishwash equipment, the installation of two quarry tile floors, and partition wall construction in Building No. 1 at the 1106 South Broadway location. The period of performance for construction is 168 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed through completion of the project. The estimated cost range of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Initial Plans and Specifications will be available on August 1, 1996, only from the Architect/Engineer firm of Liberstudio Architects, Incorporated, 2020 Santa Monica Boulevard, Suite 460, Santa Monica, California 90404. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be directed the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Plans and specifications will be made available for pick up at the A/E's office and also for delivery at an additional charge. Requests must be in writing and will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests made after the initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer,) plus a shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable,) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for August 20, 1996, at 10:00 a.m. (local) at the 1215 Lodi Place location, and will continue on to the 1106 South Broadway location. This will be the only opportunity to review the job sites prior to submission of bids. Bid-Opening is scheduled for September 5, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. (local) at the A/E's office.
