The work shall include, but not limited to the following: Replace existing HVAC systems, including piping, chiller, pump, convertor, domestic water storage heater, fan coil units, and their associated controls. Replace bathroom plumbing fixtures and kitchen sink. Replace fir doors. Encapsulate VAT floor tiles with carpet (in the basement). Re-paint interior surfaces and exterior doors, dormers, and facia boards. Sand-blast and paint exterior fire escapes and provide canopies. Replace lighting fixtures and power, including their associated wiring. Provide a new wet and dry pipe system (for attic space only) pipe fire protection sprinkler system for the entire building, including a new underground fire main. Provide a new fir alarm system for the entire building, with an analog addressable system, including single station smoke detectors in the bedrooms. Asbestos containing materials (ACM), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) containing light fixture ballasts will be encountered in the project. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this project is 1522. The size standard is $17M. Requests for plans/specs must be made in writing accompanied with a check in the amount of $55.00 made payable to the order of US Treasury c/o EFA Chesapeake, mailed or hand delivered to the above address. Please note the plans/specs will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick-up a copy of the solicitation at Building 212, First Floor, Plans and Specs Office at the Washington Navy Yard. The hours of operation are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. Requests for bidders lists must be made separately. There is no charge of bidders lists.
