Salvage, Scrap, Certify & Dispose of NOAA Ship KYMA, NOAA Ship 512, and
NOAA Ship HECK. Performance period to commence approximately September
1, 1996 and shall be completed within 30 days thereafter. Contract
items include Asbestos Removals; PCB Removals; CFC Removals;
Hazard-Free Certification and other items. These vessels will be made
available for an on-site inspection on July 31, and August 1, 1996, in
Norfolk, Virginia. NOAA Ships KYMA and 512 are ex-army T-boats.
Homeport designation for these vessels is Norfolk, Va. Characteristics
of NOAA Ship KYMA and 512: Overall length - 65'-4''; Beam - 19'0'';
Draft (forward) - 5'6''; Draft (aft) - 7'6''; Height - 39'-0'';
Displacement (FL) - 90 LT. Characteristics of NOAA Ship HECK: Overall
length - 90'0''; Beam 22'-0''; Draft (forward) - 6'9'' (max); Draft
(aft) - 7'-8'' (max); Height - 64'-0''; Displacement (FL) -220LT.
Special Note: NOAA Ship KYMA has been stripped and is not operational;
NOAA Ship 512 was fully operational at the time of here
decommissioning in October 1995; NOAA Ship HECK was fully operational
at the time of her decommissioning in October 1995. All responsible
sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
