AUGUST 1995 COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY (CBD) AND THEN WAS SUBSEQUENTLY
MODIFIED IN THE 25 JANUARY 1996 AND 18 JUNE 1996 CBDs. This amendment
is to give potential sources the ability to submit a capability
statement to be received within forty-five (45) days after the date of
publication of this synopsis. This notice of intent is not a request
for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to
compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is
solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received
will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining
whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a Sole-Source
contract with Pegasus for the operation and maintenance of a Trunked
Land Mobile Radio System at NO COST to the Government. The authority of
this sole-source action is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1)--Only One Responsible
Source. Pegasus is the only responsible source capable of meeting the
agency's requirements since they are purchasing the system from its
