Locap Universal Testing Machine with Option 1: Four Quadrant-Pulse Width Modulated Drive, Model 30000, or equal--1 ea. The unit shall meet the following specifications. The unit must be new. It must operate on 120 VAC and 60 Hz AC mains. Drive system capacity must be 30000 LBF and be capable of adding lower range load cells without modification. Horizontal load frame clearance shall be 22 inches. Range of testing speeds shall be 0.02 to 20 inches per minute. Unit must include a 4 channel display and display 4 channels of readout simultaneously. Display must indicate either pounds, or newtons of kilograms. Display must indicate position with a maximum resolution of .0001 inch. Display must provide a bi-directional RS-232 interface. Display must provide electronic load limit protection for programmed load ranges. Display must provide a system for controlling the speed of the testing machine. Display accuracy shall be +/-0.5% of indicated load or +/-0.1% of range capacity, whichever is greater. Control system must provide variable speed controls to raise and lower the travel of the crosshead on the frame. Display must indicate speed of crosshead travel. System must incorporate a data system for statistical and graphical analysis of acquired test results. System must be capable of both compression and tension measurements. Load frame must provide studs for attaching test fixtures. Machine must be able to be used with or without computer control. Unit must have dual test base, upper station for tension testing and lower station for compression testing. This synopsis is being issued to solicit quotations from vendors desiring to furnish the above described item to the Government at the address set forth below. Written quotations in response to this Request for Quotation (RFQ) should be submitted to the attention of the individual(s) at the address set forth above not later than 4:30 p.m. Eastern on August 8, 1996. Delivery shall be to NASA, Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, VA 23337. Delivery is required within 45 days after award of purchase order. Award is anticipated to be made within 7 calendar days after the closing date of the RFQ and will be made to the responsible firm submitting the lowest responsive quote.
