Cass The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center intends to negotiate a firm-fixed-price supply contract for the delivery and installation of 28,700 linear inches of strong stationary shelving and related file inventory management system. Shelving shall replace electronic ''lectriever'' file system located at Defense Finance and Accounting Service Norfolk Operating Location. Shelving shall be capable of holding approximately 27,000 contract payment files in an area of 1,000 square feet. File inventory management system consists of 27,000 bar coded/color coded 8.5'' x 11'' file folders and a software- based catalog and retrieval system adaptable to a LAN Windows configuration. Contractor shall be responsible for removing existing files, bar coding, color coding, loading data into the inventory management system and refiling all contract payment files into new shelving. Conversion process requires great workforce flexibility, as existing lectrievers will be removed by the government one at a time as the effort progresses. A seemless, turnkey conversion is required. Proposal evaluation criteria will include a requirement for software demonstration and a separate technical proposal. Solicitation documents are expected to be issued on or around 31 July 1996.
