TheTorpedo MK 50 boiler contains solid lithium fuel that is melted at startup and burned with pressurized sulfur hexafluoride to generate the heat necessary to convert deionized water to 1700 degree F/1000 psi superheated steam. The purpose of this contract is to procure Torpedo MK 50 boiler assemblies as defined by Drawing Number 7021775 and Weapon Specification (WS) 22021D. Drawing 7021775 is a source control drawing with a single approved and qualified source. Anticipate issuing a five (5) year, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract with Firm Fixed Price provisions to Sundstrand Corporation per FAR 6.302-1(a) (1) & (2) (ii) (See Note 22) for a minimum quantity of 100 boilers with an estimated contract ceiling quantity of 1250 boilers.
