being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/NOTIF.96.182.

tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where
applicable): Gasoline-engined vehicles (HS Chapters 8703). 5. Title,
number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: TIS 1365-2539
(1996): Standard for Gasoline Engined Vehicles: Safety Requirements;
Emission from Engine, Level 4. 6. Description of content: Specifies
Level 4 as limits for gaseous pollutants (i.e. carbon monoxide,
hydrocarbon combined with oxides of nitrogen) emitted from
gasoline-engined vehicles applies to passenger cars, passenger cars
modified from trucks and trucks. Defines two types of emission limits,
i.e. for vehicles with gross mass not exceeding 3,500 kg. and vehicles
with gross mass exceeding 3,500 kg. For vehicles with gross mass not
exceeding 3,500 kg., the limit of gaseous pollutants emitted from
passenger cars with more than six seats, passenger cars modified from
trucks, or passenger cars with gross mass exceeding 2,500 kg. and
trucks, the gaseous pollutants shall equal the limit of gaseous
pollutants from passenger cars with more than six seats. Includes
marking, labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity, testing. 7.
