J -- MAINTENANCE SERVICE PLAN (MSP) FOR GARRETT GTCP 36-100G ENGINE SOL NAAW6000604095MW DUE 073196 POC Mamie Wandick (816) 426-6823, Ext. 237 The government intends to procure a maintenance service plan (MSP) for the Garrett GTCP36-100G engine (APU) on the GIV aircraft. This procurement requirement is for the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center's, 1994 Gulfstream GIV fixed-wing high altitude jet aircraft, FAA registration number 49RF, serial number 1246. The maintenance service plan (MSP) shall be effective for a four year period, from the time the aircraft is delivered to the Aircraft Operations Center through the 48 month period. The Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) must be operating properly for the aircraft main power plants to start. The MSP will provide 100% coverage of maintenance and operational readiness and serviceability of the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU). The MSP shall provide financial coverage for the scheduled APU maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, and service bulletin updates to the engine. Also, to minimize aircraft downtime, or ''out of service'' time during extended periods of maintenance, rental and/or exchange APU must be made available at a special discount rate. Service must be provided at all Gulfstream Service Centers at the same time airframe maintenance is being conducted. Offeror must provide all special tools, parts, equipment, and certified technical staffing needed to accomplish the above task. The maintenance service plan must meet or exceed the MSP offered by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Evaluation of bids must be based on, but not limited to the lowest total evaluated amount, quality of warranty offered, and past performance of similar jobs. This procurement is a proposed sole source. If there are no other qualified vendors the procurement will be issued to Allied Signal Engines of Phoenix, Arizona. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued on or about July 31, 1996. Interested parties should submit their interest within 15 calendar days from the date of the CBD announcement. Copies of the RFQ may be requested in writing by faxing a request to (816) 426-7530. Satisfactory receipt of the request is the sole responsibility of the vendor. (0194)
