Construction: Reroofing of Visitor Center/Administrative Building at Big Bend National Park, Texas. The work of this contract consists of removing damaged portions of the existing foam roof and making repairs with new spray foam (polyurethane), adding new roof coating and gravel. Also, removal of gravel from and preparation of the existing built-up tar and gravel roofs of the patio and entrance roof canopies. New spray foam, coating and gravel will be added. Existing gutter and down spouts at the entrance canopy will be waterproofed. The entire roof area measures approximately 15,000 square feet. Solicitation drawings will indicate roof areas known to be damaged. This notice does not describe all the requirements of this project. Traveling from the west on Highway 67/90 turn south at Alpine on Highway 118, travel 80 miles to the northwest corner of the park near Study Butte. Travel east 25 miles to the Administration Building at Panther Junction. Traveling from the east on Highway 90, turn south on Highway 385 and travel 69 miles to the Administration building at Panther Junction. The estimated cost of this contract is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation will be available for issue on or about July 22, 1996.
