Z -- US POSTAL SERVICE IS ISSUING REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR REPLACING DOCK LEVELERS AT NEW JERSEY INT'L & BMC, 80 COUNTY RD, JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097-9998 SOL RFP #415046-96-A-0042 DUE 081396. POC Project Manager, Charles J. Caramanna, (215) 931-5142 and Contracts Specialist Linda A. Retallick, (215) 931-5436. The work consists of providing all labor, material, equipment and services to complete the following: removal and salvage of existing mechanical dock leveler; removal of existing dock bumper guard; construct and repair existing concrete with concrete to match existing surface; provide new hydraulic dock levelers and hydraulic edge of dock levelers and components at specified locations; provide new rubber dock bumper guards; and, install electrical supply necessary for new hydraulic dock levelers and edge of dock levelers. Docks will be turned over to the contractor in accordance with the ``Dock' Turnover Schedule''. Docks may be taken out of service at 6:00AM and must be back in service by 5:00PM. Notice to proceed for physical work shall be issued on or about January 2, 1997. OFFEROR MUST BE EXPERIENCE IN GENERAL CONSTRUCTION AND PRIMARILY ENGAGED IN THIS LINE FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE (5) YEARS AND WHO, IN ADDITION, SHALL HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AT LEAST THREE (3) PROJECTS OF SIMILAR SIZE AND SCOPE. The estimated price range is between $500,000.00 and $700,000.00 with completion within 190 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
