The work includes exterior masonry and dome/roofing repair for the historic preservation and restoration of the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel. The work includes related scaffolding, removal and disposal of defective materials, and maintaining continuous moisture protection. The work also includes site repair such as; brick masonry, terra cotta and granite retaining wall, areaway repairs and steps, concrete sidewalk repairs, handrail refurbishing, site regrading and restoration, and site drainage work. Further work includes repairs to doors and windows which includes refurbishing window grates, main ornamental bronze entrance doors, upper and lower window, and incidental related work. A Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit is scheduled for 15 August 1996 at 10:00 A.M., at 181 Wainwright Road, (ROICC PW Conference Room) U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. Requests for Plans and Specs must be made in writing accompanied with a check in the amount of $50.00 made payable to the order of US Treasury C/O EFA Chesapeake, mailed or delivered to the above address. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick-up a copy of the solicitation at Building 212, 1st Floor, Plans and Specs Office at the Washington Navy Yard. The hours of operation of the Plans/Specs Office are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. Requests for bidders lists must be made separately. There is no charge for bidders lists. PLEASE NOTE: Plans and Specs will be issued on a ''first-come'', ''first-serve'' basis. The projected date for issuance of plans and specifications is 1 August 1996. The projected date for receipt of proposals is 9 September 1996. There will be no public opening for this solicitation. The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. (0194)
