This directorate intends to issue Invitation for Bid (IFB) F29650-96-B0027 on or about 31 Jul 96. Responses will be due approximately thirty (30) days thereafter. The Government intends to procure this project under full and open (unrestricted) competition. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 with an estimated performance period of 180 calendar days. Contractors bidding as the prime contractor must have a primary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code of 1731 with a size standard of $7.0M. In general the work will require preventative maintenance on fifteen substation transformers to include an external inspection, performance tests, removal and disposal of hazardous material and the placement of transformer and substation back on-line. Funds are not presently available, however, they have been requested. This IFB is based upon your understanding that (1) funds are not available and (2) if funds do not become available no obligation will be incurred by the Government because of this IFB.
