Scope of work consists of cleaning the canals, culverts and land at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Dade County, Homestead, Florida, located approximately thirty miles south of Miami, FL. Work includes but limited to removing vegetation along canal banks totaling approximately 200 acres. Trees shall be cut to a height of two inches above grade. Non-vegetation debris shall be disposed in a licensed landfill. Drainage culverts totaling 14,000 linear feet shall be clear of vegetation and debris. Contractor shall prepare all necessary environmental permits and perform work in compliance with environmental standards. The contractor must have an arborist to oversee work. Approved herbicides may be used. The SIC Code is 1629. Magnitude of construction is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Project performance period is 120 calendar days. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about 30 Jul 96. Dates are for estimating purposes only and may be revised as indicated in the IFB.
