B -- ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEYS SOL RG-07-96 POC Contracting Officer, Gary Scales, TVA is seeking the services of a qualified contractor(s) to conduct Phase I(reconnaissance level) archaeological surveys on six TVA reservoirs. Work will becarried out under four (4) separate contracts. One contract will be to survey specified land areas totaling approximately 3,500 acres on Nottely and Chatuge Reservoirs in north Georgia and southwestern North Carolina. One contract will be to survey specified land areas totaling approximately 3,000 acres on Boone andSouth Holston Reservoirs in northeastern Tennessee and southwestern Virginia. One contract will be to survey specified land areas totaling approximately 6,000acres on Norris Reservoir in east Tennessee. And one contract will be to surveyspecified land areas totaling approximately 6,700 acres on Cherokee Reservoir ineast Tennessee. Each contract will require a report of results in a publishableformat to be prepared upon completion of the surveys. Work under these contracts is projected to begin on or about September 15, 1996. Responses to thisnotice must identify which contract or contracts for which the respondent wishesto compete and attach a statement of personnel and institution/firm qualifications.Minimum qualifications for the principal investigator must include a graduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology, or equivalent training and experience. Firmqualifications should also support a demonstrated ability to plan, equip, staff,organize, and supervise a field survey of this scope.
