C -- A/E DESIGN SERVICES FOR RENOVATION OF TB ISOLATION ROOMS SOL 590-19-96 DUE 081696 POC Michale Weaver (804) 728-3116 The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Engineering design services required for project 590-303, Renovate TB isolation rooms at the VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia. The project will require field investigation, working drawings and specifications, construction period services, estimates and certain other items. Project will renovate 4th floor of the existing hospital to provide TB isolation one-bed rooms with private wheelchair accessible bathrooms. design shall include small ante rooms with lavatories for nursing. HVAC design (currently all rooms are conditioned with thru-the-wall a/c units) shall include all new equipment with controls that allow rooms to be switched on or off for negative air in order to comply with current CDC requirements. CIH services shall not be required due to recent asbestos abatement project for this area. All bed rooms shall include patient bedside medical gas, nurse call, telephones, and cable TV. The A/E shall use VA space planning criteria and VA design criteria to layout the area effectively and efficiently. Estimated cost of construction is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Selection criteria shall include: (1) experience in type of work required; (2) professional qualifications; (3) ability to accomplish work within required time frames; (4) past performance as related to quality of work; (5) area of consideration limited to 100 mile radius of the Medical Center.
