FIRM FIXED PRICE, REQUIREMENTS TYPE CONTRACT IS BEING CONTEMPLATED FOR
ONE-YEAR, WITH A ONE-YEAR OPTION FOR SERVICES REQUIRED FOR REPAIR OF
F118-GE-100 FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY. ITEM 0001 - INPUT: NSN 2840-01-296-
9470LR, P/N 9545M13G02/03 AND/OR NSN 2840-01-388-0213LR, P/N
9545M13G05, OUTPUT: NSN 2840-01-388-0213LR, P/N 9545M13G05.
DESCRIPTION: THE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY INCLUDES FRONT FRAME, NO. 1
BEARING SUPPORT HOUSING, FRONT MOUNTS FOR VERTICAL LOADING, DE-ICING
MANIFOLD, INLET TEMPERATURE SENSOR, NO. 1 ROLLER BEARING AND NO. 1
STATIONARY SEAL. THE 13 VARIABLE IGV FLAPS ALIGN DIRECTLY BEHIND THE
FRONT FRAME STRUTS. THOSE FLAPS ARE HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED BY A
FUEL-POWERED ACTUATOR MOUNTED ON THE CASE AND CONNECTED TO THE
ACTUATION RING, THIRTEEN VARIABLE IGV FLAPS AND TWO PIECE INNER SHROUD.
THE FLAP ACTUATION SYSTEM HAS A ACTUATION RING, LEVER ARMS AND
ACTUATOR. APPLICATION: F118 ENGINES USED ON THE B2 BOMBER AIRCRAFT.
FUNCTION: THE FRONT FRAME CONSISTS OF 13 HOLLOW STRUTS WELDED TO AN
OUTER CASING AND INNER HUB PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: PROVIDES
SUPPORT FOR THE FORWARD END OF THE FAN ROTOR THROUGH THE NO. 1 ROLLER
BEARING AND SUPPORT HOUSING, SUPPORTS THE FORWARD END OF THE FAN
STATOR, PROVIDES TWO FORWARD ENGINE FLIGHT MOUNTS THAT INTERFACE WITH
THE AIR FRAME FOR VERTICAL LOADS, ONLY ONE MOUNT IS USED AT A TIME,
STRUTS 8 AND 9 HOUSE THE SCAVENGE AND LUBE TUBES FOR THE NO. 1 BEARING,
THE FRAME PROVIDES A MOUNTING SURFACE FOR THE INLET TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
THE DE-ICING MANIFOLD RECEIVES STAGE 5 COMPRESSOR BLEED AIR AND
DISTRIBUTES THIS AIR THROUGH EACH OF THE 13 STRUTS. THE DE-ICING AIR
THEN IMPINGES ON THE INSIDE OF THE CENTERBODY AND THEN THROUGH HOLES IN
THE CENTERBODY TO PREVENT THE FORMATION OF ICE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE
STRUTS AND THE IGV FLAPS. ESTIMATED QUANTITIES: ITEM 0001 - BASIC (1ST
YEAR) 8 EACH, OPTION I (2ND YEAR) 8 EACH. A 90 - DAY 25% OPTION IS
INCLUDED AT THE CONCLUSION OF OPTION I (2ND YEAR). DELIVERY WILL
COMMENCE 30 DAYS ARO AND REPARABLES AT A RATE OF 1 EACH PER MONTH UNTIL
CONTRACT COMPLETION. The approximate issue/response date will be 30 JUL

from the requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited
may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered.
Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services)
required are available from only one or a limited number of
responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will
satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is for
supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the
authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest
and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This
notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However,
all proposals received within forty five-days (thirty days if award is
issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of
publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A
Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract
based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of
the Government. Information received will normally be considered
solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns
from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development
phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to
diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer,
but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
