Work consists of converting two existing permanent party dormitories, Building 1172 and 1166 into upgraded transient dormitories for 34 visitor/modules (Bldg 1172), and 31 visitor/modules (Bldg 1166). The existing buildings altered to accommodate standard design rooms with living/sleeping rooms with bath and walk-in closets. The other items for each building includes exterior entrances, lobby/lounge, janitor closet, laundry area, linen storage, maid's lounge, mechanical room, electrical and communications rooms, stairway, corridor, cable television and handicapped room and access to first floor common areas. Asbestos abatement for removal of pipe, duct and tank insulation prior to demolition. The interior and exterior paint of two existing buildings showed no presence of lead-base paint. Supporting facilities includes electric service, fire protection, and alarm system, concrete sidewalk, information systems, and parking stripes. Air conditioning: 85 Tons. The estimated cost of the proposed project is between $5 Million and $10 Million. Solicitation to be issued O/A August 1, 1996. Documents to be available at $170.00 per set of specifications and full-size drawings, and $156.00 per set of specifications and half size drawings.
