ESC/MCK intends to award a contract 15 days after publication of this notice for delivery of six EG&G Electro-Optics Rubidium Frequency Standards part number RFS-10-7 (4-40) or Efratrom Time and Frequency Products Inc part number 70502-1, Model 100 or equivalent. Units are similar to NSN 6625-01-257-5621 except for mounting holes. Simplified acquisition procedures will be used. Delivery is required at Hanscom AFB, MA of at least two of the units not later than 30 days after contract award, and of the remaining units not later than 120 days after contract award. Early delivery of either individual items or the entire lot is encouraged. Verbal quotations have been solicited from the above two vendors. Any other interested vendor wishing to provide a quotation should submit evidence of prior manufacture of Rubidium Frequency Standards to the contracting officer via telefax to (617) 271-6419. These Rubidium Frequency Standards are highly stable and accurate 10 MHZ reference oscillators which provide spectrally pure reference signals in the Milstar Mini-Time Distribution System (MTDS). The MTDS provides time and frequency reference for Milstar communications equipment. Unit size is approximately 4 x 4 x 5inches. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The production of Rubidium Frequency Standards requires a substantial initial investment and an extended period of preparation for manufacture. See Numbered Note(s): 26. (0198)
