Deborah Smith-Castle, Contracting Officer, (301) 443-0424, FAX (301) 443-3691 The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a contract to SRI International, Inc. (SRI) for compilation of food additive exposure data. The Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) has a requirement to provide FDA with information on the consumption of indirect food additives developed from data in the reports published by SRI in the Speciality Chemicals Update and the Chemical Economics Handbook as well as other unpublished information contained in their data bank. Additionally the contractor will be required to provide estimated poundage and market values for approximately 500 substances for which data on the total poundage of food uses is not already provided in the publications referenced above. Finally, major technical effect(s) shall also be reported for each substance for which poundages and market values are estimated. Allowances shall be made for imports and exports whenever possible.
