The purpose of this procurement is to provide a vehicle through which support services can be acquired, obsolete LAN equipment can be replaced, new/upgraded government furnished or commercially available LAN hardware and software can be acquired, and a Headquarters US Army Corps of Engineers integrated LAN/WAN/MAN capability can be established. The equipment, supplies, and services acquired under this contract fall into the following broad categories: (1) Hardware, which includes such things as network file servers, monitors, CD-ROM readers, etc. (2) Software, which includes operating systems, PC based applications, communications, etc. (3) Services, which includes studies, systems operations, analyses, training, software conversion, computer programming, documentation development, LAN/WAN/MAN planning and installation, database development, etc. (4) LAN/WAN/MAN components, which includes such things as cable, connectors, patch cords, bridges, routers, conduit, raceways etc. All request for proposals must be in writing and reference RFP No. DACW72-96-R-0004. An Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery contract is anticipated, which will allow use of delivery orders to execute specific work requirements. The Government intends to award a contract for an initial twelve (12) month period, with options for four (4) additional twelve (12) month periods. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards under this RFP. The Size standard associated with SIC Code 7379 - $18 million per year averaged over three years, is applicable.
