Refurbishment of picosecond laser facility located at Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Adelphi, MD and exchange the present picosecond lasers, which include two picosecond coherent 702-2D dye lasers and a Quantronix doubled Nd: YAG laser, for optically-pumped Ti: Sapphire lasers and an optically-pumped oscillator (OPO). An exact delivery date is not known at this time but shall be within 2 years of contract award. It is the intent of the Government to award a contract on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. Extensive market research has demonstrated that there is only one or a limited number of responsible sources. Firms that recognize and can produce the required items described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer, and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Oficer within fifteen (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
