Description of Work: Add/Alter Dormitories 282, 284, and 286 and Central Utility Plant. The rooms will be conditioned with fan coil units with individual thermostats and a four-pipe system. The kitchenettes and bathrooms will be on a central exhaust system. The design shall include an upgrade to existing electrical, communications, fire alarm system, and cable-TV systems. The exterior design shall match previous dorm renovations in the area and the living spaces are to have exterior balconies and entrances. A standing seam metal roof (SSMR) system shall be included in the design as a bid option. The first floor of each dorm shall have a day room, storage, mail room, and unisex handicap accessible lavatory. The new fire alarm control panel shall be compatible with the existing base-wide system. Each sleeping room will have a heat and smoke detector. The common areas will have pull stations at each exit and one in the middle. Each common dorm unit will have a 1 hour fire rated construction. The Central Utility Plant shall provide steam to Dorms 282, 284, 286, 276, and 288. Dormitories 288 and 276 have the same scope for upgrade as Dormitories 282, 284, and 286 with the exception of no new exterior balconies, and the space between the modules of each dorm will be enclosed for a day room, dorm supervisor's office and laundry room. Network Analysis System will be required. Estimated cost range of project is from $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. Charge for solicitation documents is $120. Make check payable to F&A Officer.
