This directorate intends to issue Invitation for Bid (IFB) F29650-96-B0031 on or about 30 Jul 96 with bids due approximately thirty (30) days thereafter. The directorate intends to procure this project under full and open (unrestricted) competition. Firms interested in this IFB should have a primary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code of 1761 with a size standard of $7.0M. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 with an estimated performance period of 180 calendar days. In general the work requires the encapsulation of asbestos-fiber roof coatings on existing metal roofs and retrofiting the roofs with a three stage, fabric reinforced, flexible, acrylic coating liquid applied in successive stages to form one continuous, seamless, watertight membrane with a minimum cured total system thickness of 40 Mils. The contractor shall provide and install all required vent pipe, air conditioning duct, roof ventilator, roof vents, exhaust vents, exhaust pipe, and flashing for a complete roofing job. A minimum 20 year manufacturers warranty will be required. This IFB is based upon your understanding that (1) funds are not available and (2) if funds do not become available no obligation will be incurred by the Government because of this IFB.
