This is not a request for proposal. This is a survey for information
and planning purposed only. The U.S. Army tank-automotive and armaments
command, research, develo pment and engineering Center (TARDEC) is
working with the U.S. Army infantry Center and School (usaic) in an
integrated concept team to develop requirements for a fu ture infantry
fighting vehicle (fiv). The Main mission of the fiv is to Carry a full
squad with its supporting equipment and provide a base of support and
a base of fire for that squad. Fielding of an fiv would take place in
the 2012 timeframe. Part of this concept is to investigate
technological solutions and explore innovations which might be
applicable for the fiv. To AID in this process, the members of the team
are coducting a Market survey and will host an industry Day. The Market
survey will allow contractors to submit their IDEAS for consid eration
and the industry Day will provide a forum at WH ich the Government can
inform contractors of details of this initiative. It is requested that
any companies or individuals with developing Technologies that may
meet the mission of the fiv should participate in the survey .

conjunction with the Market survey, TARDEC, together with the usaic,
will host an ''industry Day'' on August 20, 1996 at the TARDEC
