B -- TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEM SURVEY SOL RFP-R3-08-96-02. Due 081496. Contact Point, Contracting Officer, Michael C. Aguirre, (505) 434-7340. The USDA Forest Service, Region 3, Lincoln National Forest, plans to award a Firm-Fixed Price Contract for a Terrestrial Ecosystem Survey. The contract range is $25,000.00 to $100.000.00. The contractor, except as specified in Government furnished property, will furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary to perform Level 3 Terrestrial Ecosystem Survey on areas with slopes less than 40% and a Level 4 Terrestrial Ecosystem Survey on areas with slopes greater than or equal to 40%, on 47,429 acres of the Sacramento Ranger District, Lincoln National Forest, in southeastern New Mexico, known as the S4 EMA (Ecosystem Management Area). The party leader for the Terrestrial Ecosystem Survey must be a qualified Soil Scientist and have at least three years of experience in conducting Terrestrial Ecosystem Survey or similar type mapping. All other personnel doing field mapping must be qualified Soil Scientists with at least one year of experience in Terrestrial Ecosystem Survey or similar type mapping. A qualified Soil Scientist is a person who has a full four year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree with major study in soil science, or a related field of biological, physical, or earth science. The study must have included at least 30 semester hours of courses in biological, physical, and earth sciences, including at least 15 semester hours in soils. All personnel must have the ability to describe the vegetative components fully as well as the soil components. Funds for this project may or may not be made available. Period of performance will be 365 days. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the Forest Service. (198)
