Y -- UPGRADE INSTRUMENT LANDING SYSTEM (ILS) AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX) SOL DTFA08-96-C-02959 POC Nancy Davis (310) 725-7564 The Federal Aviation Administration's Western-Pacific Region has a requirement to upgrade the existing Instrument Landing Systems(ILS) at the Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles, California. The work involved for this project consists of, but is not limited to: (1) Installation of a Category III Instrument Landing System (ILS) for Runway (R/W) 24R and; (2) Installation of a Category I Instrument Landing System (ILS) for Runway (R/W) 06L. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1799. The estimated range for this acquisition is less than $200,000.00. The period of performance is 45 calendar days and shall be performed within this timeframe. Work is scheduled to commence on September 3, 1996. Request for Offer (RFO) DTFA08-96-C-02959 will be issued to ten (10) Prequalified Offerors and five (5) additional interested offerors. This notice BELOW is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to 1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Programs (STLP), at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximun line of credit is $500,000.
