The specifications of this request for quotation are for a substation control building and will include design, engineering and construction of the building. If a minimum has been specified for a particular detail of construction this does not guaranty compliance with this specification. All specified loadings, dimensions, factors and ratings listed in the specification section titled ''Substation Control Building Engineering Details'' must be met, regardless of specified minimums contained in this entire specification. Any deviations from what is called out in the specification shall be noted in a document titled ''Deviations and Exceptions'' that shall be included with the bid package. Any variance from this specification not approved in writing prior to delivery will be considered grounds for rejecting the product. Rejection on these grounds absolves the US Dept. Of Energy from all responsibility. SUBSTATION CONTROL BUILDING ENGINEERING DETAILS: 1. SIZE: The outside dimensions of the building shall be 14 feet wide by 28 feet long with a maximum exterior height of 12'-6''. The interior finished floor to ceiling height shall be 9 feet high. 2. DESIGN: The minimum R values in the floor, walls, and roof shall be 32, the minimum U factors shall be 0.032. 3. FLOOR LOADING: The floor loading capacity shall be 600 pounds per square foot or greater. 4. ROOF LOADING: The roof loading capacity shall be 240 pounds per square foot or greater. 5. WALL WIND LOAD: The wind load capacity of the exterior walls shall be 175 mph or greater.
