Monitor the biological recovery of the Prince William Sound intertidal zone impacted by the EXXON VALDEZ oil spill through annual biological sampling. This project includes studying the effectiveness and biological effect of selected shoreline treatment methods and characterizing the course of recovery from the oil and cleanup activities. Field work involves documentation of biological conditions at selected intertidal sites of differing substrate types, oil conditions and treatment histories. An annual report will be required summarizing the results of these surveys. The period of performance is from January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1996, with options for four (4) additional one-year option periods.
