The Postal Service is seeking a single source to provide managed network services for multiple network applications. The USPS expects the service provider to acquire the existing router-based network as USPS-provided equipment and provide complete network service and management. It is anticipated that service will be expanded to an additional 6,000 geographically dispersed postal sites within the first six months of operation. The telecommunications networking service will also provide centeralized remote management to local Associate Offices (AOs). The solicitation may be downloaded in RTF for Microsoft Windows based word processors. The file is self a expanding archive containing multiple files. The files will be located on the Internet at www.usps.gov/business/wantad.htm, on July 18, 1996. No copies of the solicitation will be provided via print media. A pre-proposal conference will be conducted on July 26, 1996, at 9:00AM, at Mitretek, 7525 Colshire Drive, McLean, VA 22102. Attendance at this conference is mandatory for any offeror. This is a secure facility, therefore, it will be necessary to provide the contracting officer with a list of all attendees not later than five days prior to the conference. List shall include the individuals name and title, company name and address. A maximum of five (5) representatives from any offeror will be permitted to attend the conference.
