Z -- SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION OF BASE ENGINEERING REQUIREMENTS (SABER) SOL F11623-96-R0012 DUE 101596 POC Liz Woolsey, Contract Specialist (618)256-1500, ext 239. The subject acquisition is for a broad range of maintenance, repair and minor construction work on real property at Scott AFB IL. The contract will be an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity type contract and will include a wide variety of individual construction tasks as identified in the Unit Price Book (UPB). During the contract period, Base Civil Engineering (BCE) will identify construction tasks required to complete each specific job and the 375th Contracting Squadron will negotiate and issue individual delivery orders to the contractor to complete those jobs. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials, equipment and personnel necessary to manange and accomplish the projects. The contractor will be required to maintain a management office on Scott AFB in order to receive delivery orders and provide other management services related to accomplishing individual jobs. Individual jobs will vary in size and complexity. The jobs will include tasks in a variety of trades, including carpentry, road repair, roofing, excavating, interior electrical, steam fittings, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, demolition, cocrete masonry and welding. The guaranteed contract minimum is $250,000.00 and the proposed basic year maximum is $5,000,000.00. The average value of SABER delivery orders under the current SABER contract at SCOTT AFB from Jun 95 to Jun 96 was $107,000.00. The performance period will be a twelve (12) month basic year with four (4) twelve-month option years to be executed at the Government's option. The proposed contract is RESTRICTED to 8(a) firms who are services out of the Chicago IL District Office and who have SIC CODE 1542 among their approved SIC CODES. A copy of the firm's certification letter from SBA must accompany the request for a solicitation package. ALL OTHER FIRMS ARE DEEMED INELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT OFFERS. The Government anticipates significant subcontracting activity under the SABER contract. Due to the size of the solicitation package, a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE OF $50.00 PAYABLE TO THE UNITED STATES TREASURER, SCOTT AFB IL 62225, is required for each copy of the solicitation request.
