(915) 568-1009 (Site Code DOCSUP) The contractor shall provide all
labor, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary for the
repair of Biggs Army Airfield Runway, Fort Bliss, Texas. The work
consists of constructing new concrete pavements, repairing existing
aspalt concrete (AC) surfaces by using Portland cement concrete (PCC)
on runway surfaces, and resurfacing the shoulders and overrun of the
runway with asphalt concrete. Work also includes the removal and
disposal of existing asphaltic concrete, concrete materials, subgrade
materials, and other waste associated with the work. Concrete work
includes dowels, joint sealing materials, joint sealing, saw cutting,
rubber removal, repainting, regrouting, epoxy coatings, concrete
repairs throughout the runway, seal reflective cracks on concrete
pavement surfaces not being replaced with new concrete, prepare cracks
to rout and seal, saw cut as required, clean, apply air pressure, and
vacuum dust from cracks to remove foreign materials from cracks. The
contractor is also responsible for having all state and federal
licensing permits, and/or certification to work on this project. The
period of performance is 540 calendar days after receipt of the notice
to proceed. This project will be divided into three phases, each with
180 calendar days for completion. The magnitude of this project is
between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The standard industrial
classification is 1611. This requirement is subject to availability of
funds. The IFB will be issued o/a 8/12/96, bid opening date will be
o/a 9/12/96. There is a non-refundable fee in the amount of $50.00 for
the solicitation. Mail certified company check or money order payable
to Defense Finance Accounting System, to the Directorate of
Contracting along with your request for the solicitation. This
requirement is unrestricted, all responsible sources may submit a bid
which shall be considered by the agency. If a large business firm is
selected for this announcement, it must comply with FAR 52.219-9 clause
