RICHARDSON, (601) 689-8367 Requirement is for a portable, deep/shallow water Echo Sounder that shall be a dual frequency system capable of simultaneous operation, nominal 200kHz and 24 kHz, and shall provide precise bathymetry data at a depth range from 0.5 meters to 2000 meters. The system will be installed on survey vessels of size varying from 20 to 150 feet, open or closed. A total estimated quantity is 11 systems that are to be procured during the base and up to two one (1) year option periods through 30 September 1999. In addition operation and maintenance manuals, for each system, operation and maintenance training, up to an estimated 1 session per contract period, and spare parts kits, up to an estimated 1 kit per system per contract period, will be included in the contract. Government specifications will be provided with the solicitation. The solicitation, N62306-96-R-0008, is for commercial items and is to be processed under FAR Part 12. Solicitation issue date should be o/a 30 July 1996, with a closing date to be 30 days after issuance. Delivery will be required within 60 to 120 days after issuance of delivery orders under the contract and is to be made to the Naval Oceanographic, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
