The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service proposes to award a sole source contract to the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska for the purpose of providing a study on diabetes prevention among Indian Children in the Northern Plains. These services include the implementation of a community based intervention program for the treatment and prevention of obesity and diabetes among American Indian Children. Award of this contract will be made under the authority of the Buy Indian Act and 41 USC 253(c)(1) to the Winnebago Indian Tribe of Winnebago, Nebraska as this entity has the prerequisite knowledge and ability to perform this project(See Note 22).
