Perkins, Facilities Contract Specialist, 901/747-7628 The project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the design and construction of a single-story addition of +53,000 square feet to the existing facility consisting of a large open Workroom for mail processing equipment; a Bulk Mail Entrance Unit (BMEU) with adjacent support spaces and an Office; a Compressor Room; a Label Room; a Grounds Storage Room; a Mechanical Mezzanine; an Electrical Room; and stairs, ramps, vestibules and a janitors' closet. Included also is a Lookout Gallery (LOG) system with breakouts. There are two alternates for additional workroom space of 10,600 and 21,160 square feet each. There are no toilet rooms. Mechanical, electrical and compressor room sizes are to be adjusted as required to suit equipment. Renovation of an additional +2,000 square feet is included. The offeror must be experienced in design/build work and primarily engaged in this line and who, in addition, shall have satisfactorily completed at least three prior projects comparable in size and scope to the work required by this solicitation. The issue date for the above project is July 23, 1996, and the return date is August 20, 1996. The performance time is 180 days. The estimated cost range for the entire project is between $3,000,000 and $4,000,000.
