following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article

addition, where applicable): This is a design code for energy
efficiency of air-conditioning (AC) installations covering design
parameters, control methods of AC system and minimum efficiency of AC
equipment, etc. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the
notified document: ``Code of Practice for Energy Efficiency of Air
Conditioning Installations'' in draft. The Code, written in English,
consists of 52 pages including appendices. 6. Description of content:
The draft AC Code sets out minimum requirements for achieving
energy-efficient design of air-conditioning installations in buildings.
The Code specifies design parameters, control criteria of AC
installations and the minimum equipment efficiency. The control figures
are derived from data obtained from surveys conducted in Hong Kong.
Reference has also been made to national energy codes of other
countries. A public consultation exercise is being conducted to invite
relevant parties to comment on technical aspects of the Code and to
give opinions on the ways of implementing the Code. 7. Objective and
rationale: The draft AC Code is one of a series of Building Energy
Codes that are being developed mainly for building professionals to
promote the design of energy-efficient buildings. 8. Relevant
documents: Not applicable. 9. Proposed date of adoption: Proposed date
of entry into force: Since ways of implementing the Code (e.g.
mandatory, voluntary or other administrative approaches) are still
under consideration and the consultation exercise for the Code is in
progress, the proposed date of adoption and entry into force is not
