NETHERLANDS: SEA-GOING SAILING VESSELS FOR COMMERCIAL VOYAGES The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.96.205. 1. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Sea-going sailing vessels for commercial voyages, with a length of 12 metres or more, but not more than 40 metres and carrying not more than 36 passengers. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Regulation Amending the Regulation on Passenger-Carrying Sailing Vessels, 3 pages with appendix, available in English. 6. Description of content: This Regulation prescribes requirements for newly built sailing vessels in terms of shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, rigging and equipment (e.g. radio-communication, medicines), layout, fire protection, electrical installations and inspections. 7. Objective and rationale: The existing Regulation on passenger-carrying sailing vessels only provides stipulations for existing sailing vessels and not for newly built sailing vessels. In addition, practice has shown us that certain existing stipulations which do not relate to the construction of new sailing vessels should be amended or complemented. 8.
